- Create a material for your object.
- Call the new material WireFrameMTRL and the shading group WireFrameSG.
- Go to the shading group, click the mental ray tab -> Contours tab.
- Click enable contour rendering.
- Set the color to whatever you want.
- Set the width to whatever you want, a good place to start is 0.5 (this is for the wireframe lines).
- Apply the material to the object.
- Open Render Settings
- Select Mental Ray as your renderer.
- Under the Features tab scroll down and expand the Contours tab.
- Select Enable Contour Rendering.
- Open the Draw By Property Difference tab.
- Click Around All Poly Faces.
- Render! (May want to test render to make sure the wireframe lines aren't too chunky or too small).

Contour Wireframe
